من أجلِّ المختصرات المُؤلَّفة في قراءة الإمام نافع المدني رحمه الله: أرجوزة الإمام أبي الحسن ابن بري رحمه الله، وهي المسماة بـ «الدرر اللوامع في أصل مقرإ الإمام نافع»؛ فقد ضمَّنها قراءة نافع من روايتي قالون وورش، وبيَّن الخلافَ بينهما في الأصول والفرش، وأوردَ فيها ما أمكنَه من الحج والتوجيهات، مع الاختصار وقلَّة التعقيد في العبارات. فقام الشيخ المارغني رحمه الله بشرح الأرجوزة شرحًا لا مطوَّلاً مملاًّ، ولا مختصرًا مخلاًّ، أوردَ فيه ما تحتاجه من حلِّ ألفاظها ومعانيها، مع بيان ما به العمل والقراءة عندنا من المذكور فيها، ذاكرًا للوجه المقدَّم في الأداء من وجهي أو وجوه الخلاف المعوَّل عليه. آتيًا بتنبيهات تشتمل على ما تتأكد حاجة الطالبين إليها، مُعرِضًا عن النقول الضعيفة وكثرة التعاليل، تاركًا للإعراب البيِّن؛ إذ الاشتغال به من التطويل، محرِّرًا لمسائل لم يرَ من تعرَّض لتحريرها على نحو ما ذكرَه، رادًّا لما ذكرُوه في بعضها مما هو مخالف لما حرَّره.
