Né en 1952 à Minya Al Qamh (à l’est de l’Egypte), Ahmad Farid est un prédicateur égyptien de renommée dans son pays. Il obtint son diplôme de la Faculté de Médecine de l’Université d’Alexandrie où il était aussi très actif dans ses milieux estudiantins. Il sera fortement influencé par certains prédicateurs originaires d’Alexandrie tels que le cheikh Muhammad Ismaîl al-Muqaddam et se lancera dans la quête du savoir religieux auprès de ce dernier et d’autres tout comme les écrits du Cheikh al-Albânî l’influenceront grandement. Depuis lors, il dispense des conférences et publie des ouvrages.
