Pour lui, l’histoire ne se résume pas à des guerres et à des traités, ou encore à des dynasties régnantes qui se succèdent. À travers ces quelques pages, Thomas Sibille nous plonge dans cette histoire riche en événements et surtout en enseignements.
Il a choisi, pour cela, de s’appuyer sur de nombreux récits et citations des siècles passés pour illustrer son propos et prouvé, si besoin était, que l’islam n’a jamais été étranger à la France. Il finit par s’interroger sur la portée de son livre : “Peut-être y trouverons-nous les ingrédients nécessaires pour une France apaisée.”
