Abdallah Penot: Dominique Abd Allāh Penot est né en 1954 en France. Très intéressé par les traditions orientales en général et par l’hindouisme en particulier, à la suite de la lecture de René Guénon, il part pour l’Inde mais s’arrête à Damas où il demeurera. Là, il se convertit à l’islam et étudiera sept ans durant auprès du Shaykh Abū an-Nūr qui l’initie au Soufisme et lui enseigne les sciences religieuses (fiqh, tajwîd, tawhîd, etc). Il devient, au début des années 1980, un des représentants de la confrérie shādhiliyya en France.
